The Colca Canyon is the habitat of animals such as the Andean Condor among other 100 species of birds, four types of camelids: vicuña, guanaco, llama and alpaca. In addition, there are more than 300 species of plants, of which 30 are cacti, not to mention the primitive green yareta. One of the most invaluable spectacles of a visit to the canyon is the flight of the Condors next to the cliff. ITINERARY:
- At 3:00am to 3:30am pick up from your Hotel in Arequipa, to begin the bus trip to the Colca Valley.
After a 3 and a half hour trip we arrived at the town of Chivay. - Breakfast in Chivay. Then we continue the trip for 2 hours to the Cruz del Cóndor viewpoint.
- At Cruz del Cóndor, we have free time to admire the natural beauty of the Canyon and observe the flight of the Condors as well as the depth of the Canyon.
- Later we board our return transportation to Chivay, making stops along the way in towns such as: Pinchollo (Mirador de Wayrapunko), Mirador de Antahuilque, town of Maca and Yanque.
- Then we have free time to have lunch and/or visit the thermal baths.
- In the afternoon we return to the city of Arequipa with stops at: Patapampa or Mirador de los Andes, Alto Sumbay, Salinas National Reserve and Aguada Blanca, habitat of species such as the Llama, Alpaca, Guanaco and especially the Vicuña. (arrival at 6:00 p.m.)
